Our Favorite Dallas-Area Breweries

No matter the weather, it’s hard to beat a weekend stop at a local Dallas brewery. Whether you want to take refuge from the colder temperatures by going on a fascinating tour of the facility or you want to relish a perfect sunny day with hours spent on the patio, a brewery always delivers.

Check out our favorite brewery locations near Downtown Dallas and stop by next time you’re in the mood for a good beer.

Deep Ellum Brewing Company

Few breweries are as well-known in Dallas as the Deep Ellum Brewing Company. Known for its signature offerings like the Dallas Blonde, which can be found in bars and grocery stores across the city, this brewery is a must for anyone who wants to better understand the Dallas beer scene. The brewery hosts $15 tastings every Saturday from 12 to 3 p.m., which include three beers and a take-home glass. The space also includes a large outdoor patio that’s dog-friendly, shaded and often features live music.

Can’t make it on a weekend? The kitchen is open daily, and it’s one of the best places to indulge in a lunchtime appetizer, such as the Layered Nachos or Elote Tots.

Braindead Brewing

Braindead Brewing is another Deep Ellum hotspot, and if you’re most interested in delighting your taste buds, this is the place to be. Menu highlights include the Coma Burger, made with house-ground brisket and bacon, and the T.A.B.L.E. sandwich, a tasty twist on the traditional BLT. Braindead’s menu is also notably vegan-friendly and includes a mushroom and quinoa burger, a Good Herbivore sandwich with house-smoked tempeh and a vegan version of their famous queso. But for anyone who’s a fan of everything meat, it’s hard to go wrong with the ultimate indulgence: a Bacon and Beer flight.

Community Beer Company

Located in the Design District, the Community Beer Company is just what it sounds like — a brewery deeply focused on fostering local community. As part of their motto, “Beer for the Greater Good,” Community regularly hosts events that support local musicians, artists and charities. They’re even home to a charity cycling team for riders of all abilities. Community also hosts tours on Saturdays from 2-3 p.m. and on Sundays from 12-6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance. Specifics vary, so check their Facebook page for the latest.

Four Corners Brewing Company

Four Corners Brewing Company recently relocated to the trendy and restaurant-packed Cedars area, so now you can cap off your next great meal with a craft beer. The brewery offers free Saturday tours where can get an inside look at the brewing process, and once you’re finished, make sure to check out the outdoor beer garden— it boasts views of the Dallas skyline. If you have kids, Four Corners is family-friendly, and it’s common to see little ones enjoying a game of cornhole on the weekends.

Texas Ale Project

The Texas Ale Project is a veteran and family-owned brewery located in Dallas’ Design District. It has plenty of space to match the weekend rush, thanks to its large open-air indoor area and a dog-friendly outdoor space. Brewery tours are free every Saturday at 2 p.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis. Texas Ale is also home to a lively event schedule, with new parties and game nights posted every week, including the popular Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz series.
