Our 7 Favorite Dallas Instagrams to Follow

Thanks to social media, it’s never been easier to keep up with the local events, breaking news and exciting cultural happenings that define our vibrant city. Instagram is one of our favorite social media apps for staying looped-in on all things Dallas. Scrolling the accounts we follow comes with a bonus, too — plenty of striking images of our highly photogenic city. Check out these seven accounts and add some local flavor to your feed.

Joseph Haubert

When it comes to raising the already high profile of the Dallas skyline, there may be no bigger influencer than local photographer Joseph Haubert. Although Haubert will occasionally post snaps of other major cities, he spends most of his time focused on Downtown Dallas. Season in and out, and regardless of the weather, the cityscapes he captures always impress.

Nelson the Goldendoodle

This local celebrity is just like us. He loves living in Dallas, enjoys a good meal out and gets very excited about a walk in the park. Did we mention he has four legs? There’s no doubt you’ll fall in love with Nelson the Goldendoodle and his carefree personality. Follow him to gain a new perspective on Dallas — one that’s a little closer to the ground.

The Dallas Arboretum

Few spaces are more integral to our city than the world-famous Dallas Arboretum. However, keeping up with the many events, concerts and festivals the city’s leading garden space hosts isn’t always easy. That’s where the Arboretum’s official Instagram account comes in. Making yourself a follower is the perfect way to make sure you never miss a single update. You might even be inspired to stop and smell the roses more often.

Beck Group

If you’re interested in architecture, construction and sustainability practices, the Beck Group’s Instagram account is sure to be an instant favorite. This Dallas-based company is responsible for several city landmarks, including the recently renovated Reunion Tower GeO-Deck and the Nasher Sculpture Center. Currently, the Beck Group is in the process of constructing Pacific Plaza, one of four new parks in Downtown Dallas.

SWA Group

Architecture firm SWA may have a diverse portfolio that spans the globe, but its local roots run deep. Not only does the firm occupy an office in the Design District, but it’s also behind such important city projects as the Katy Trail and, most recently, Pacific Plaza. Follow them for incredible snapshots from around the world, plus a few glimpses of some local icons.

D Magazine

With a light and fun-loving touch, D Magazine puts together a great feed of hyperlocal content. This account has it all, from restaurant openings and fitness-focused events to local news and in-depth stories about the city’s most fascinating people, places and things. Think of it as a tribute to the rich and lively diversity that is uniquely Dallas.

Downtown Dallas Parks Conservancy

The Downtown Dallas Parks Conservancy Instagram is another wonderful account to add to your social media digest — if we do say so ourselves, and especially if you’re interested in all things parks. We regularly share construction updates and photos you can only find via our channel, plus event round-ups for all the major holidays.
