Neighborhood Priorities for Parks Meetings

Help define the future of Dallas parks!

Through January 2017, Smart Growth for Dallas will be hosting a series of community listening sessions across Dallas to ask residents how our city can build better, smarter parks that meet the needs of our diverse city. Register for a session here!

These upcoming meetings will be your chance to help shape how Dallas can build better parks that can make the city stronger. The events will include surveys, guided discussions, and interactive maps, all geared toward getting input from attendees about what they want from Dallas’s park system.

Dallas is on the cusp of a new era in its history.

With a growing population and booming economy, there is a renewed spirit of optimism in Dallas that is driving us to address some of our city’s most persistent challenges: Is our water supply big enough, and clean enough, to meet our needs? How do we handle escalating health care costs? How can we meet the ever growing mobility demands of our citizens? How do we extend the benefits from recent improvements in our urban core to surrounding neighborhoods?

Parks and open spaces are powerful assets for our city.

Dallas’ parks and open spaces can grow the local economy, connect communities, improve public health, clean our air and water, and protect the city’s most important natural places. Smart Growth for Dallas uses computer modeling and community engagement to help the city find and protect its most important natural places.

We need your help.

Your input is important. For Dallas to make the smartest investments possible and ensure we are a city of great public spaces, we need to know: how do you use parks and open spaces, which parks and open spaces you are or are not using, and what drives your use of parks or open spaces.

It is your expertise as park and open space users that will help shape the city’s investment in parks and open space. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey today.
